Welcome back, homework and STEM project update

Welcome back everyone,

I had decided to keep it a surprise as a welcome back but I have arranged for the children to have samba drum lessons every Tuesday morning for this term. They had their first session this morning and this will continue next week. Here we are enjoying our first session of samba drumming:

We will have PE this Friday (bring outdoor kit and I will let you know next week if this will be our regular day - I suspect that it will be but am just finalising the rotas)

The children should begin sitting their online procedural maths tests on Thursday or Friday of this week. I will go over questions in class with them but I have sent their homework books home today and they can complete some practice questions if you have time over the next few evenings you can practice questions in your logs and use your learning logs to write the answers. Here are the questions:

Procedural test questions

We will be sitting the reasoning and reading tests next week so I will post some reasoning style practice for you to do on the weekend ready for next week. You had an example reading paper to do over Easter so you can use that if you wish but we will be practicing the comprehension skills in class ready for next weeks test.

Bookbags: We will try and catch up with book bags we started by sending Monday's groups out today and will try and catch up the others tomorrow to make sure you all have your book by the weekend - if you still have your bag at home please send it into school.

STEM project:
We have almost completed the STEM project in readiness for the hall display but as you can see from the photographs we are still missing some 5p and 10p coins to complete part of the Welsh flag. We have received a donation of coins from the Royal Mint and the PTA contributed towards purchasing some 10p and 5p coins but there is still a bit of surface we need to cover as you can see in the photographs:

If you have any spare 5p,10p or 20p coins that you could spare to complete the project we would be really grateful.

We have plenty of copper coins left to complete the body of the dragon, which is looking really good:

In addition - if you have any gold effect coins left over from holidays - Euro cents (50,20s10s) would be perfect could you send those in as they are going to be used to form part of the school badge sculpture. We won't need many of these, about 150 coins in total but if you have any you could send in again we would be grateful:

Many thanks, Mr Ball
