Shwmae pawb,
We have now reached the last week before half term. We have another busy week before our break.
The main focus of the week will be Eisteddfod competition preparations although we will also be celebrating Fair Trade day and World book day (see previous blog for details on dressing up) during this week.
Eisteddfod competitions: As the children are now in KS2 they get the chance to take part in a Welsh poetry recitation or Welsh song competition. They should have been allocated their words during their secret meeting with their houses last week. I will try and get a copy of the song and poem (in Mp3 format) uploaded to our class page on the blog to help them practice during half term - that will be their homework to ensure they learn their words ready for the competition. Each house will be arranging the poems and songs in a slightly different way so the children will need to know what their role is in the performance.
We will also be completing the creative writing, handwriting and art competitions in class during this week s that they can be judged before the Eisteddfod which is taking place after half term.
Film night: A reminder that we are having a film night to raise money towards our STEM activity which will involve us creating a sculpture after half term - for which we require a mixture of copper and silver coins. Thank you for those who have already submitted their donations and consent to attend the film. If you are unable to attend the film night but are able to donate some change for us to use towards the sculpture we would be really grateful.
We will be voting on the film this week.
Other notes for the week
Mon/Dydd Llun: Spelling check up in pairs.
Tues/Dydd Mawrth: Return learning logs with maths activity by today.
Wed/Dydd Mercher: This will be our final session with Liam from Cardiff City (and the after school club) I hope the children have enjoyed the sessions
Year 3 and Year 4 film night (5.30pm - 7pm)
Thurs/ Dydd Iau: SAFE maths challenges today. World book day celebration - dress up theme - love where you live or any character from a book you enjoy.
Fri / Dydd Gwener: Last day before half term - swimming kit is needed and Mrs Boat will be leading the class today.
