Shwmae pawb,
Please see the notice below with regard to World Book Day:
On Thursday the 21st of February we will be celebrating World Book Day at Penygawsi. Having met with the Curriculum Committee they have decided that they would like to dress up this year. They liked the idea of a ‘Myths and Legends’ theme linked to our topic ‘Bro Garwyr Tra Mad’ (Love Where You Live) where the children could dress up as a knight, princess or even a dragon. However, if your child does not have a costume linked to this theme, then why not dress up as a character from your favourite story book instead. It would be great if you could bring the book to school with you to share with a friend or your class. Please remember to put your child’s name on the book.
The day will be filled with exciting reading activities and an opportunity to ‘Share a Story’ with a buddy. We will also watch some inspiring Author and Illustrator Masterclasses.
At the end of the day, your child will be presented with a Book Token that they can use to claim one of ten books free or, if they’d rather, they can get £1 off any book or audio costing over £2.99. For further details please visit Worldbookday.com
We look forward to seeing you all dressed up on the 21st of February for a fun day of activities.

Here is the update for this week:
Saesneg/English
We will be finishing off our treasure hunt stories and begin, gathering ideas for our Eisteddfod writing competition.
Guided reading
The children may have told you that we are starting a new 'buddy reading' system in the juniors, meaning every Friday we will now take part in 'buddy reading' sessions (which will replace our class guided reading). During this time, pupils from different year groups come together to read to one another - we will be reading with pupils from Year 5. The children should have met their buddies last Friday when Mrs Boat was in class.
Therefore our class guided reading cycle will run over 4 days, meaning a lot of the children have been allocated a new reading day to change their book bag - There are new group names as well these are the days your child needs to change their book bag
