Wythnos beginning 16.10.2017

Hi everyone,

I will be back in class as of tomorrow and am looking forward to catching up with the children. Mrs. Ball and baby Seve are doing well so, my paternity leave has come to an end.

Literacy: We have a bit of work to finish off on the letter writing as Roman soldiers. This week we will be having a look at studying Roman buildings and in particular look at Roman villas and write an advert for a Roman villa.

Maths: Our main focus will be looking at metric units of measurements and the different conversions involved between different units.

Homework - this week will be maths based homework.

Other key events this week.

Mon: Spelling check in class
Tues: Comprehension homework to be returned by today. PE Kit needed today
Wed: Y5 swimming session, new maths homework to go home
Thurs: Big Maths CLIC session today
Fri: Trip to Caerleon - we need to depart school by 9am, could parents ensure children are in school by 8.45am for an early registration so we can depart by 9am.
* I may need some parent volunteers to support on the day - if you are free this Friday can you send in a note to let me know. Uniform is to be worn on the trip.

PTA Fun Run - the children should have taken home sponsorship forms for taking part in our first Fun Run of the year. If you would like to join in remember to bring in sports kit so that you can change after we return from Caerleon as the event will commence straight after school.

Look forward to seeing you tomorrow,

Mr Ball
