Over the past weeks, the children have been working as a team to create a business model that would allow them to sell items in the hope of making a profit. They have worked hard to establish individual roles and responsibilities within their enterprise. In the build up to the event, they have made a business plan, conducted market research, experimented with product designs, created a brand identity and conducted advertising campaigns.
Product designing:
All the hard work from the children led them to host an opening sales event on Friday 5th February for family and friends alongside children from the foundation phase who came in to buy products during the afternoon. The children put in a lot of hard work and did a fantastic job displaying their goods, interacting with customers and generating sales. Most importantly they all seemed to be having fun during the process.
A massive thank you to all the generous 'sponsors' from family and friends allowing the children to get a head start before they made any profits from sales.
Here are some photographs from Friday's event:

Happy customers:
Even the local Community Support Officers had time to pop in for a boot polish and buy some cakes!
If you would like to see more photographs I have uploaded the photographs to Onedrive and shared them with the children so they can view and download the pictures that they want to keep.
There will be two more days of sales for the businesses as the children sell to pupils in the juniors classes during the lunch hour, then we will review the progress of the children as a team over the whole event and try to select a business that can represent the school at a local finals event after half term.
