Already into week 4 and lots coming up over the next few weeks as we prepare for Christmas.
A big well done to the children for the effort they put into presenting their RICH tasks. It was challenging on many levels, in particular, the amount of team-work and co-operation that went into preparing each part of the presentation. A great platform to build upon the oracy activities we will look at in the Spring term.
As the children have probably told you, as Year 6, they will be leading this year's carol service by telling the famous story of the nativity as a class in between the singing by the rest of the juniors. They should have taken home a copy of their words (if they can practice at home during the week that would be great) as we will begin rehearsing next week.
Costumes - If you have a small acting role could you source a costume suited to that character from the nativity. (If you have trouble finding a costume please let me know by the end of the week). Narrators are to dress festively - Christmas jumpers etc.
Tickets - The children should have taken home an order form on Friday. Mrs Black has organised the tickets which I believe are available from tomorrow if you send in payment. Reminder of the dates if you didn't see the main blog:

Literacy - we will be listening to a new non fiction story and begin to complete activities to help prepare us for our own fictional writing acitivity
Maths - Our main focus of the week will be to continue to develop our long multiplication skills and begin to look at multiplying decimals. We will also focus on problems that make us work backwards from an answer using the correct inverse operations.
Monday: Mark Friday's spellings
Tuesday: Bryn Celynnog literacy activities transition morning- open for all Y6 pupils (transport provided and return to Penygawsi for lunch)
L&L homework books to be returned.
Homework: new maths activity to go home, and children to practice lines and songs at home ready for the carol concert.
Wednesday: Swimming kit required
Thursday: No extra PE session due to concert rehearsals
Friday: New spelling check (see list below) and BIG Maths CLIC test
