As you may have seen on the main blog page we will be having an ECO - focused week next in school, with the main focus being to improve areas of our school grounds. Thank you to those who sent in some materials before half term for the original proposed week. If you are able to bring in any of the following we would be very grateful:
Old wellies, plastic pots
lollipop sticks / coffee stirrers
CDs
String
Elastic bands
Plastic bottles
Ice cream tubs
What else is going on this week?
We have lots of other things going on!
House Captains I hope that most have had a chance to look at the blog about the roles of the House and Vice Captains. I will speak to the children tomorrow about who is putting themselves forward and hopefully we can arrange time to do the speeches and voting tomorrow afternoon.
Rich Task - This is an activity where the children get to use a range of skills (mainly practical) on a real-world activity. It will allow them to develop several skills in both literacy and numeracy and gives the children real ownership of their own learning. They will be working towards a class presentation
I have planned an exciting Rich Task that the children will be working on in groups, it will be linked to our topic as it is about mining memorials and I will explain the nature of the activity to the children in class. As we are focussing mainly on Eco-activities in the afternoon, we will use our morning literacy slots to complete the activities involved.
Remembrance Day - Along with pupils from Year 2 we will be helping to lead the Remembrance Assembly on Tuesday morning.
