House Captain voting

We have decided to postpone House and Vice Captain voting until next week but those who are planning to put themselves forward for the role please think about what you would like to say in support of your application (tell the other pupils why you would be good for the job).

Here are the roles and responsibilities of a House Captain that we discussed together as a class. Use them to help fine tune your speech that you wish to give to your house.

Year 6 Role & responsibilities for a House Captain:
 Responsible for promoting your School House, within the school community.
Jobs may include:
• Representing the house in assembly
• Working with staff to arrange inter-house events and charity events
• Acting as a positive role model
· Collecting class house point totals each week and reporting scores, develop house point collection
Qualities/Skills required:
• A good team member
• Good relationships with pupils of all ages – able to encourage them
• A positive role model – good attitude towards learning and sports
• Able to recognise other pupils’ achievements and offer support when needed.
Commitment
On-going commitment to be a good role-model.

Use of playtimes/lunchtimes to arrange events when required.

*Vice Captains are elected to support the House Captains and also fill in for a Captain if they are absent during an event or meeting
