Hi all,
another busy week ahead! First of all a massive thank you for your generous support this week towards the Poppy appeal (British legion) and our class support towards water aid on Friday.
It is our busiest term for supporting charities and this week we will be supporting children in need. The theme is 'The Big Spotacular' and we will have a non-uniform day on Friday 17th November - see the main school blog for full details.
We have also decided to support the 'Operation Christmas child' (The shoebox appeal) which the school has supported in the past. On this occasion we are not asking families to donate a whole shoebox each but instead donate an item and a £1 so that we can build the shoe boxes together in school. Class Blog - There has been some brilliant engagement on the new class blog on The Romans on J2Bloggy. I approved over 25 new posts this weekend so have a look at what people have said and add a comment if you wish to answer a question or another point on top of what has already been posted.
I've added a new thread about 'The Life of Gladiators' for this week.
Class group - over half the class have now requested to join our new class group on HWB but we won't begin using it until everyone is included - if you are struggling to do it at home please see me this week so we can get you joined on in school.
Anti-bullying week: The school will be supporting anti-bullying week this week through literacy activities linked to PSE. In addition we are taking the children to the cinema on Wednesday to see Zootropalis (The is actually linked to a national film festival and we have acquired free tickets using our connection with Intofilm). Thankfully the film has really good links to anti-bullying and we have been provided teaching resources to allow us to use the film as a stimulus in some literacy activities.

Tuesday: PE kit needed. Return literacy homework activity.
Wednesday: Zootropolis cinema trip (No Cardiff City session for Year 4 and no swimming for Year 5) due to the trip) Maths homework activity.
NEON DISCO - PTA event KS2 7pm - 8pm
Thursday: Remembrance assembly (led by Year 2)
