We have a busy couple of weeks coming upon the build up to Christmas
Literacy - we are going to continue reading our class reader, Goodnight Mr Tom. We will also share the fabulous poetry that we wrote about WW1 last week. To support our grammar development we will be doing some language work based on the Michael Morpurgo story we read last week
Maths - We will carry out some work on fractions, including improper fractions and mixed numbers and ordering fractionshanging an improper fraction to a mixed number, and vice versa and ordering fractions. We will be sharing the problems that we wrote for homework to test each other and see if we can solve all the problems!
Topic - we will find out about how WW2 started and learn about Hitler and the rise of the Nazi party
Mon - Welsh National Opera workshop
Wed - Pyjamas are needed for swimming, after school football club (there was an error on the letter it will continue to be on a Wednesday, not a Thursday) New literacy homework task to be set.
Fri - Children in Need activities, non-uniform 'spot theme' see Mrs Rees' blog below for extra details
Next week: We will be completing some work in support of Anti-bullying week. I have also arranged an exciting trip for the children. We have been invited to be guests at the PR launch of the 4th year of the Enterprise Troopers Competition, which will be taking place on 21st Nov please at the Royal Mint Experience. There will be no cost for this trip. I will send a more detailed letter during the week with a consent form.
