Wythnos 5: 02/09/2016

Some of our work this week:

Literacy / topic: This week we will be finishing off a grammar assessment and also we will be completing a comprehension task about WWI. In addition, we will be creating our own recruitment office and begin to look at life in the trenches along with how weapons and technology developed during the war. We will be writing postcards and letters as if we were soldiers writing home from France.

Maths: Use and convert between metric units of length; understand imperial units of length and that they would have been used during WWI. We will also be doing some problem solving using tree diagrams.

Key reminders for this week:
Homework: Some fabulous work was produced on the infogrpahics, thank you for those who submitted them. There was no homework handed out yesterday as there will be a change of homework cycle. I will be setting new homework tasks on a Wednesday and ask for the work to be submitted by Monday of the following week. The next piece of homework will be set on Wednesday.
I have added a new blog about David Lloyd George. I would like it if children were able to add to the blog – either by adding a comment to my initial post (a quote from DLG) and they may also submit other facts / quotes about him for their friends to comment on.
Follow the link below (it may ask you to log in – so just use your HWB password)

Roles and responsibilities: We have almost elected all of our key Year 6 roles, yet we will still be looking to select some new school council representatives, prefects, Play Leaders (Year 2) and Playground Pals which we will aim to elect by the end of this week.

Wed: New homework task to be set.

Thur: CLIC maths.

Fri: Mr Wagner maths session. Big writing session. PE kit required today
