Homework task 16.09.16

Homework task
The children have taken home new Learning Logs that can be used for recording homework. The children can cover the book in a cover of their choosing to help them recognise their book. We will be completing some tasks online as well as we become more familiar and confident with using the HWB platform.

Task 1
Danny Champion of The World review

We have been reading the book and listening to an audio version of some chapters. Today the children watched the cinema version of the film. I would like the children to complete a short task about their opinions about the different port rails of the story.

I would like the children to write an account of what their preference has been so far. Use the following questions to help with detailing their account. If they are able to discuss it with somebody it might help

Is there more detail in the film or the book?

How does the book help us to build more of an understanding of the thoughts and feelings of the characters?

Characters
When reading the book we have to use our imagination to picture the characters.
Who is your favourite character in the book? Is it the same person in the film?
What did you think of the actors who play the characters. Are they how they imagined them? Do they suit the roles or not?

Conclusion
Next week we will complete the ending of the book and the ending of the film. Which ending do you think that you will prefer (the film or book version) ? Please explain why you think so?

Task 2
Draw your favourite scene / character from the book in the style of Quentin Blake. I will upload some images from the book and share them with you on HWB but you can find lots of images on google. Use the influence of our trip to the museum and the clips we watched to try and sketch like QB

Please return your learning logs to class by Wednesday 21st September so that we can share our thoughts.
