Good afternoon all,
Firstly I apologise for forgetting to update the blog last week but I'm sure the children have told you we had been very busy prepping for the summer show and the fete on Friday.
I am very proud of the effort the children put into supporting the PTA and the school by running the inflatable stalls, raffle and stalls they made themselves. They were fantastic with the younger children and have helped to raise more valuable funds that will go towards future resources for the school.
We are making great progress with the summer show and had a great day helping to design the set last Thursday. A massive thanks to Mr Prothero who put aside his other jobs to prioritise making the structures for the wings along with other props using his fabulous carpentry skills. We also need to thank, Miss Morgan, Mr Black, Jo Bartley and Sue Rees who have been working hard to get the set ready for the shows. As you may have seen via Schoop you will be able to purchase extra tickets tomorrow.
I will be picking up costumes on Tuesday but could all other children bring in their costumes by Wednesday 29th July so that we can have a dress rehearsal during the week. I have asked them to prioritise learning their lines so have given an extension for the 3D shape homework.Depending on progress this week we may need to work after school one evening for an hour to work on a few scenes - but I will discuss this with the children during the week.
PE kit - could children bring in PE kit this Tuesday
Another reminder that school sports day will be taking place on Monday July 4th. This year will have an Olympic theme and the children will be put into countries - USA, GB, Japan, Brazil and Kenya to represent different continents around the world. The events are being designed by the Sports council and children will find out which country they represent tomorrow.
We will have Halfords joining us on Wednesday 29th at 1pm to do the talk that they were due to provide earlier this month (they apologised for making a mistake with their booking system but have assured me they will be here on Wednesday).
The school governors will also be joining us on Friday to take part in several activities with the children and different members of staff.
Leavers hoodies
Our new uniform supplier has offered us a good price on customized leavers hoodies for the children. These have been popular with leavers over the past few years so we would like to offer the children the chance to purchase one if they wish.
