Wythnos 7: 12/10/2015

Literacy and Language (L&L)
We are going to peer assess our final narrative pieces from the perspective of Sir Guy of Gisborne. Then we begin the non-fictional aspect of the unit, looking at newspaper reporting.

Maths
We will be focussing on multiplication this week aiming to cement some mental 'brain only' ways of working out 2digit by 1digit sums.

Topic
This week will mark the anniversary of the Senghenydd mining disaster. We will be looking at the dangers of mining and the major disasters that have a occurred in Wales. After studying the disaster at Senghenydd we will work towards writing a newspaper report about the disaster.

Monday
Homework - This weeks activity will be a literacy activity to complete in our L&L homework books.
Spelling to be posted on the blog for a spell check on Friday.

Tuesday
Mr Wagner will be joining us in the morning.
PTA - AGM in school hall 7pm

Swimming kit needed

Big Maths Beat That CLIC challenge.
Mrs Boat will be teaching in the afternoon.

A great effort has been put in thus far and we are ever increasing our momentum. This week Year 6 will also be supporting me in enhancing our playtimes as a KS2 using some new equipment that has been purchased by the school. They will be helping to roll out the new equipment amongst their younger peers.
