Hi all,
Maths Homework
Thank you for all giving up the time to have a go at practicing your place value skills on the online maths trial with IXL. As a class we have answered over 5,000 questions and spent over 45 hours working on the place value problems (A1 - A4) which is amazing work within a week!
I have asked the children to have a look at problems on addition and subtraction (B1 - B4) There will be many questions in this section that you will need to use working out to be able to solve so don't forget to use your learning log to jot down your workings (just label the section you were working on) to help with your calculations.
Harvest Assembly
I will also be giving the children a small item to learn for a class item in this Friday's harvest assembly (to be discussed in class tomorrow)
Spellings - to be tested 9/10/2015
We are going to continue to look at suffix words, in particular words that come fro root words that have an e at the end and that sometimes the e is dropped before the suffix is added and sometimes it is kept.
for example here are your first four words:
'ible' sense + ible = sensible
'ion' opposite + ion = opposition
'ation' imagine + ation = imagination
'iour' behave + iour = behaviour
Here are another seven to learn (can you think of what root words they came from?)
truly
argument
persuaded
guidance
observant
creation
appreciation
Bonus words (if you wish to learn a few extra):
knowledgeable
fascinating
conceivable
