I Need A Hero!!!!!!!!!
Yes everyone it is that time of year again! It's Pudsey time! This year Pudsey needs us all to be his heroes!
The BBC's Children in Need appeal is held each year on a Friday in November. The focus of the appeal is the Children in Need telethon, a whole evening of entertainment featuring various celebrities, but many other events and fundraising activities take place around the country.
Since 1980, Children in Need has supported children's projects in the UK by raising over £650 million.
I know you will agree it is an important day and one that we, at Penygawsi enjoy supporting. We have decided that we want to be heroes and join the rest of the UK raise as much money as possible for this very special charity.
To start our fundraising day of next Friday 15th November, we at School Council headquarters have decided to put on our best super hero costume and donate 50p for not having to wear uniform for the day. Stuck for ideas? Here's some to get your imaginations flowing.....
If you do not fancy donning a mask and cape for the day then come in your old faithful pyjamas for a more comfortable day!
During the day there will be lots of fun activities going on in the classroom. There will be the opportunity to buy Pudsey Bear cookies and cupcakes in the afternoon as well as School Council holding a Bring and Buy sale. If you have any unwanted toys, books, teddies and bric-a-brac then please bring them to school by Thursday 14th November.
Additionally, on the day we will be visiting each class to ask if they have any pennies that they are willing to give to Pudsey. We at School Council ask that if you have any spare pennies lying around between now and the day itself that you donate them to Children in Need. We would like to fill our Pudsey Pots (one in each class) with these pennies. So go checking down the side of your sofas and in your jean pockets...who knows what you might find!
