Spellings need to be learnt this weekend to beat your previous score.
From Friday we will be starting our Big Maths Beat It Tests. Get practising your times tables in advance; trust me it will help you! Every week you will get the chance to beat your previous score and time. Wait until you hear the jingles... you are going to LOVE them! ;)
Next week, you will receive your first wage from the colliery. We will be having a maths week, calculating your funds; how much food, rent, fuel you can afford and inputting the figures into Excel. It would be great if you had a tin or a box at home that you could keep your money in. The mams will be looking after this. The older the tin the better!
Swimming is EVERY Wednesday from tomorrow. Don't forget your bathers, towels and goggles. I can't wait to see how much you have all progressed from last year!
Last but not least, if you have any books or artefacts at home linked to our topic we would love to see them in class. Diolch to those that have already sent in coal, oil lamps and fascinating books; they are great!
