Here are our notices for next week and I have exciting news about an upcoming class engagement activity I have booked for the children with the Ocean Conservation Trust. I told the children about it last week but please see the information below for the details.

Cycling: Reminder that you can leave your bike in school tomorrow for the week if that suits you best. You need to wear school uniform on the top half of your body but if you wear school trousers you may wear tracksuit bottoms or leggings this week. Boys who wear shorts you can still wear shorts. You are allowed to wear trainers for the week as well.
The weather looks to be OK for the next few days but you never know. It might be a good idea to have a pair of spare socks in your bag in case you get caught in the rain. Also bring a small towel in case you need to dry off or wipe your saddle. Don't forget to bring a waterproof jacket as well and gloves as well as your helmet.
Rest of the week. Around the cycling activities we will be continuing with our new writing cycle about the Titanic and in maths we will focus on problem solving activities this week.
Monday: Please bring bikes into school in the morning - breakfast club bring them up the main path and they can be wheeled through the nursery gate round on to the KS2 yard but if you lean them on that fence onto the junior yard.
Non breakfast club if you wheel them onto the yard and then against the fence opposite the porter cabins in front of the staff car park.
Tuesday: Bikes needed again today. Make sure you have completed your Titanic infographic by today.
Wednesday: Bikes in school today. New mathematics homework task to be set.

Friday: Bikes might be needed today we will need to see how progress / size of groups have been. PE kit needed today
Ocean Conservation Trust workshop (Y3 & Y6):
We have arranged for a specialist workshop from the National
Marine Aquarium (NMA) and the Ocean Conservation Trust to take place for the
children at school as an alternative to an external visit.
On Thursday 6th February The NMA will be sending a Marine Biologist and teacher from their centre
in Plymouth to work exclusively with pupils from Year 3 and Y6 during the day.
The workshops will be very interactive and will involve the
children using virtual reality (VR) headsets to learn more about the oceans so
will be a great link to our STEM topic.
Both classes will experience the following workshops:
Ocean Investigation - where they will get to explore different areas of life beneath the waves and handle some exciting artefacts from the ocean!
Coral Calamity - They will venture to The Red Sea to learn about what coral actually is and why it is an endangered ecosystem.
To help us cover the costs of the workshops we are asking for
a contribution of £6.50 per pupil.
