I would just like to say the children were an absolute credit to the school on Friday during our visit to Cardiff. I think we covered a distance on foot of around 13Km. They were incredibly well behaved on the trains as well, as such I had some positive comments from members of the public.
We also met Keith Dunn OBE, Honorary Consul for Japan in Wales and he was equally impressed with our behaviour during the lecture about Kagura dancing. He has offered to support us in any aspect of our topic research, which was a lovely gesture.
I hope the children enjoyed the experience as they were able to watch something that was an incredible cultural experience and something they would be unlikely to get to see again. A big thank you again to our volunteer parents who braved the weather to join us.
This week:
Literacy: We will be completing our first leaflets about Japan and will do an additional piece of review writing about the Kagura dance.
Numeracy: Begin looking at tree diagrams in problem solving.We will also look at common multiples and finding the lowest common multiples.
Science: We would like to look inside objects that use electricity to function. If you have a small electronic device that is surplus to requirements at home. Old computer parts (keyboards, mice etc) remote controls, small appliances - or anything that has electrical circuitry inside can you allow the children to bring them into school for us to look at.
Note: The items will be takena apart and will end up in recycling after we have finished with them, so please don't send in an item that you would still need returned.
