Shwmae pawb,
I hope everybody had a good first three days back settling in to our new class. It is going to be an exciting year and I am looking forward to helping the children progress in their final year at Penygawsi.
This week we will be completing our topic web - finalising our ideas about what we would like to learn about during our new topic.
Our main focus in maths will be place value.
In literacy we will be completing some work on grammar skills and completing a spelling assessment. We will also decide on our first writing genre of the year ready to begin our first creative writing cycle.
Homework
Our first homework task will be sent home this week and will need to be returned on Monday (This will continue weekly for set homework tasks) In addition, their may be work that we begin on HWB during the week and in collaboration with others that the children will be required to continue at home. This will be good preparation for them in rediness for Year 7 when they will have to juggle a range of home learning tasks.
PE - could you please bring in PE kit again
Parent meeting for Manor Adventure trip - Their will be a parent information meeting on Thursday 12th September at 5pm in school about a residential which we are planning to organise for Year 6 during the autumn term.
