Thank you for your support to Children in Need last Friday, we raised over £260 as a school for the charity.
Christmas photographs - we will be taking Christmas photographs in classes on Monday - please can you bring in a Christmas accessory (eg Jumper / hat / headband) for the photograph.
Christmas craft: The Christmas fayre is fast approaching. If your child is the oldest sibling in school they should have brought home some raffle tickets for you to sell on behalf of the PTA, if they have an elder brother or sister in Y4-Y6 they would have been given the tickets. If you could try to sell / the two books as a family the PTA would be really grateful.
Recycled kitchen rolls: We will be making a craft item to sell to parents at the fayre, please could you send in any kitchen roll cardboard tubes that you have in your recycling over the next week for us to use towards making our craft. Please don't send in toilet roll cardboard.
Spanish soccer session: I have organised a taster session for the children to try Spanish soccer on Thursday 22nd November so can they make sure they have PE kit with trainers in school on Thursday
Literacy - we will begin looking at advertisements and how they are linked to writing and speaking.
Maths - Measuring skills: looking at cm and metres and beginning to use decimal notation
Mon : Spell check, return Learning Logs. Christas class photos - (bring in accessory)
Tues: PE kit (indoor)
Wed: New learning log task to go home today (maths activity). Please keep practising tables recall in random order (x2 x5 and x10)
Some Big maths language to help you:
2 x 8 = 16
8 x 2 = 16 *We would call 8 and 2 switchers - because it doesn't matter which way around they go in the sum - the answer will be the same.
This then gives us all the information we need to complete
16 ÷ 2 = 8 AND 16 ÷ 8 = 2
We call all four of these sums together a 'Fact family' as all four sum only ever involve the same 3 numbers. Tip for remembering the division of the sum - the largest digit will always be written first then divided by one of the other numbers to give the final answer.
