We now reach the final week of the first half of Spring term. We are beginning to make preparations for our St Davids day celebrations after half term.
We will be creating two pieces of creative writing this week. A short story which can be entered into the BBC 500 word competition and will be the Year 5s Eistedfodd entries for creative writing. We will also be using our research to write a persuasive article about coming to Wales (we will be using this as a writing assessment).
We will also begin to start learning our house poems and songs and aim to complete the creative art competition and handwriting entries.
Key dates for the week
Mon - Spelling check up in pairs.
Tues - bring in notes made at home to use for their creative writing (children who have used word to type notes can print them in school if you don't have access to a printer)
Wed - Y4 swimming, Cardiff City afterschool club
St Davids day photos - the photographer is in school to take photos so please wear St Davids day clothing.
Valentines disco juniors 7pm - 8pm
Fri - Big Maths CLIC tests, PE kit needed today, please.
