I would like to research the properties of each of the following quadrilaterals:
parallelogram, square, rectangle, rhombus, trapezium, kite and arrowhead (also known as an inverted kite or delta)
Must - draw each shape in your Learning Log (by hand or using ICT and stick in) and label it's properties and write a description of the shape.
Should - add a good range of mathematical vocabulary to support your descriptions and discuss lines of symmetry.
Could - add information about angles, parallel lines, adjacent lines and perpendicular lines to enhance your knowledge of the shapes
There is lots of information on-line but following online dictionary is really good and has some interactive images to help you visualise the shapes: http://www.amathsdictionaryforkids.com/
Extension -
1. Explain what an oblong is.
2. Create a Venn / Carroll diagram to demonstrate shapes which have the same / different properties.
To be handed in on the Monday after half term.
