Wythnos 2: 18/04/2016

Shwmae all,

We are carrying on with a big focus towards literacy and numeracy during this week:

Literacy: Our main focus will be to continue working towards our comprehension skills, reading a range of different texts and answering different styles of questions. We will also be discussing debating techniques in preparation for our trip on Thursday.

*Spellings - whilst I am setting two pieces of homework per week I will not set additional spellings to learn at home but we are likely to have some random spelling tests over the coming weeks to test the children's retention of certain key words.

Maths: We will continue to look at conversions of measurement and scales, and look at the similarities between capacity, weight and length (in terms of metric units) we will also begin to focus on exam style questions and problem solving in readiness for the procedural and reasoning tests.

Monday: Return comprehension homework activities to go over in class. New literacy task to be set.

Tuesday: Outdoor PE kit required today (this will not be our weekly slot, I will confirm the actual day as soon as possible)

Wednesday: Pastoral session (discussions about change and moving on) to be led by Bryn Cylennog.
Please ensure all trip consent forms and payment of £3.50 is sent in by today, thank you.

Thursday: Visit to Cardiff Bay - uniform to be worn and packed lunch required

Friday: Maths homework to be returned and new activity to be set.
We will be carrying out a writing activity based upon yesterday's trip to Cardiff Bay. Big maths

Diolch,
Mr Ball
