Wythnos 4: 25/01/2016

Prynhawn da,

A brief overview of the week ahead:

Maths - we are continuing with data analysis and will interpreting and constructing line graphs.  We will also look at interpreting other forms of graphs and charts, such as pie charts and, in addition, we will also revise the use coordinates in all four quadrants and look at reading scales on maps, plans and graphs.

Literacy: we will continue to look at our new fictional text 'Basham's tortoise' and discuss the use of different story genres. I will discuss the possibility of entering the prestigious BBC 500 word short story competition with the children. There will also be a comprehension activity to carry out on Thursday.

Enterprise Troopers: We will focus on advertising and formulate a plan for the rest of the half term with an aim of hosting a sales event before half term if we can agree that our product assembly would be complete in time.

Spellings and homework: New spellings will be posted tomorrow and I will go over the maths homework in the middle of the week.

Monday: Spell check up (last Friday's words). PC Daniels will join us in the morning for the second part of staying safe. Indoor PE kit is needed for the afternoon.

Wednesday: return literacy with a maths activity to be set.

Thursday: Mrs Boat teaching in the morning. Indoor PE kit is NOT required this week.

Friday: Spell check - see word list below and Big maths CLIC tests / badger maths problem-solving activities.
