Icebergs Ahead!

Dosbarth Eryri turned into mad little scientists for the day today.  There was plenty of deepening thinking and challenge flying around the 'lab'!

The pupils were given the question...
"What makes ice melt more quickly?"

The pupils planned their investigation, including success criteria and equipment needed to carry out a successful enquiry.  As a class we carried out the investigation and the pupils recording their findings in the most appropriate way; which most felt was a table.

Tomorrow we will be looking at transferring the data from the table into a line graph, using our skills we learnt in our maths lessons last term.

Have a look at the fun had in the photos below.

Ask your child what does make ice melt more quickly.  What did they notice about their findings and the observations made during the investigation????

Da Iawn Blwyddyn Chwech I was very impressed with your hard work and enthusiasm today.  Keep it up!

One last thing, I would like to say a HUGE "Diolch Yn Fawr" to Y Pant Comprehensive School for the very generous loan of their equipment needed to carry out the task today.  We are very grateful!
