Rwanda Restored
Key Stage 2 were very lucky to have a special visitor during Friday's Assembly. Greg Reynolds from the wonderful charity Rwanda Restored joined us to discuss an amazing opportunity for the pupils at Penygawsi Primary School.
Greg is currently working with a group of schools in the Ruhengeri area of Rwanda. He has asked the pupils in Key Stage 2 at Penygawsi to help him on his quest. We have been asked to donate £1 each to help resource a class with writing paper and pens. With these pens and paper the children in Ruhengeri will be able to practise their writing.
Mr Davies would like these children to write to us. Each child that donates £1 will have the opportunity to become letter pals with a pupil at one of the schools in Ruhengeri. This will be a fantastic chance for the children at Penygawsi Primary to discover a new culture and way of life, at the same time as making new friends.

I appreciate with Christmas just around the corner time is precious and the children may not have the chance to write these letters at home. This is why I am offering Letter Workshops this week for those children that may need a little help in writing their first draft of their letter to their new friend. The Workshops will take place on Wednesday 12th and Thursday 13th lunchtime at 12pm.
Once the children are given a little help to start their letters we ask that they be redrafted and completed at home during the Christmas holidays and returned to school, with their £1 donations on Friday 11th January.
