To read a range of novels looking for examples of authors using ; and : as we have done in class with Treasure Island.
To become more confident in using ; and : in your own writing.
Step 1
We have been using colons and semi-colons in school. Read the books you have at home and search for the author's use of : and ; Record these examples into your learning log with the title and author of the book.
Step 2
Then have a go at writing some sentences yourself that include the appropriate use of : and ; You could begin thinking about the destination where you main character has landed after the storm in your story???
