This term year 6 are going to be writing their own Fantasy stories. I would like to spend the day on World Book Day discussing and sharing the children's knowledge of Fantasy stories. Therefore in year 6 I have asked the children to dress up as a character from ANY Fantasy Story Book.
Examples might include:
Alice in Wonderland.
The Harry Potter Books
The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe
The Snow Walker's Son.
The Secret Garden
Tales of Terror from the Tunnel's Mouth.
The Lord of the Rings.
The Indian in the Cupboard.
If possible i would like to try and discuss more traditional fantasy stories and encourage the children to read a book they haven't read before.
If possible please could the children bring to school the book their character is from, so we can read and share the synopsis, as well as read extracts from the book.
During the day we will make a list of books from which the children will choose one to read and write their own book review on.
