Extra Practice
During our English lesson we have been looking at the structure of persuasive writing and newspaper reports. Much of this work involves using:
- More formal language
- Sentence connectives
- Complex sentences
- Avoiding personal pronouns.
We will shortly be coming onto letter writing.
It would be a huge benefit if the children could read as many real life examples of this style of writing as possible, enabling them to become more familiar with the style of writing and the type of language that is used.
If possible please could you help your child to read newspaper reports from good quality newspapers, letters written into newspapers and magazines that give opinions, as well as any other examples of formal writing you are able to provide.
